The Missing Rose: Part 1

[Fu is surprised not to find the train station completely deserted— it was so cold this morning that she'd considered abandoning this trip completely and simply curling up under a blanket with a nice steaming bowl of udon. Still, it isn't like the place could be called busy. A few people meander about the platform while they wait for the train. Some make conversation with friends or family while others just devote all of their attention to their phones.

As for Fu, she stands at the edge of the platform waiting for her friends to show up. Clutching her briefcase tightly and casting uneasy glances between it and the station market make her look suspicious as anything. She seems to be struggling to come to a decision about something important.]

[ Karin arrives at the station with with her a rather annoyed expression on her face. She was unable to get a bag of dried sardines for the trip despite having planned for it. ]

sigh...

[ She catches sight of Fu and waves to her. At least someone else showed up for the trip, that's smile worthy, right? ]

Fu!

[arrives two weeks late with an ekiben for Karin]

[Well, Karin, just before you get to properly exchange greetings with Fu, an exceedingly clumsy redheaded girl comes quite literally crashing in, tripping on her own two feet, head down, bottom high, arms flailing. A train station bento cracks open in the ensuing calamity, depositing three fistfuls of rice and an assortment of sushi.

It's only after the food rains down that the girl's frazzled chipmunk-like partner catches hold of her with his two vines and pulls her back to full height.]

Well you're here now and that's all that matters :3

[The commotion catches Fu's attention just as she thinks she hears someone call her name. She spins on her heel to see Karin not too far away and Mairin being helped to her feet by Chespie. Fu cringes as a little part of her dies to see the contents of the bento scattered like that.]

M-Mairin...

[Wait a second, people might find the sight of a chipmunk creature with extendable arms strange— if they were paying attention anyway. Fu decides to create a distraction and points in the direction opposite of her friends, calling out excitedly.]

IS THAT THE FAMOUS MOVIE STAR SETSUNA HIGASHI OVER THERE!?

MAAAAAAAAAAAAIRIN!!!!!!

[ Regret! Immediate regret! Traveler's remorse! All of the above shoot through the young hero's mind. Between the redheaded girl's proximity food explosion and Fu's over the top distraction, it's enough for Karin to feel like she's in a circus...one that's burning down with mass panic ensuing. ]

...what in the...

[ She notices the little creature too and quickly catches on. This girl is definitely with Fu and maybe, just maybe she's some kind of Hero too? Regardless, it wouldn't be a good idea to let people see chipmunk creature. With that in mind, Karin jumps in front of the girl and her companion in the hopes of shielding them from view. ]

Don't just stand there. Call him back or something.

[ She's just going to assume you know what she's talking about Mairin. ]

[GUESS WHO FAILED TO TRACK THIS yowza, hi, guys, sorry for the hundred year delay]

A-ahh, right away!! [Mairin frowns and quickly recalls Chespie, but fortunately, only AFTER she regains her footing instead of crashlanding into either Fu or her (diminutive) friend.]

I forgot... Pokemon aren't common around here.

Did you think he was a fairy, Fu's friend?!

[Yes, just "Fu's friend" for now, give the girl an introduction!!]

[Fu has her arms spread wide as if that'll block everything happening behind her from sight. She throws a glance over her shoulder dropping her voice to a whisper.]

Are we all clear back there? I don't know how long I can keep them distracted.

[Not that it matters; no one is really paying attention anyway.]

[ Karin sighs loudly. These girls were truly two of a kind. Karin stares at Mairin with a rather blank expression. She's never heard of a Pokemon before, but clearly this girl knew about the fairies that the heroes possessed. ]

It was a lapse in judgement.

[ She means about assuming Chespie was a fairy and about coming on the trip. Karin turns to face Fu. ]

Just stop, Fu...
